My name is Marcel Moniaga, a creative director originally born in Indonesia, grew up in New Zealand and now live here in Australia. I’ve been in the industry for over 15 years – I started before the iPhone, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook or even TikTok. I may or may not like to wear jackets.
I’ve seen many things over the years and how some of these tech innovations (and more) have made my job harder and easier all at the same time. That being said, I’ve also seen that all great work and campaigns share one thing in common – they all started with a simple idea. And that’s still the thing that gets me up every day for the past 15+ years.
But that's not all – great, simple ideas without the craft to match mean nothing. As a digital geek, I'm pretty hands-on with the tools and once upon a time led a front-end dev team so I have a great understanding of how things are made.
My work has been awarded and recognised across all major award shows, locally and globally, and contributed to multiple agency/network of the year awards – though my proudest moment was being AWARD School Tutor of the Year 2018. I’ve also had the privilege to help judge AADC Awards for the past 3 years and Young Glory 2022.
Outside of work, and when not on dad duties (which I love), I spend most of my time in photography, the NBA and perfecting my latte art (not necessarily in that order).
